PHILADELPHIA (AUG. 10, 2017) - Based on the Aug. 10 2017 decision by Judge Bumb, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District has directed Weeks Marine Inc. to resume beachfill operations in the City of Margate as part of the Absecon Island Coastal Storm Damage Reduction Project. The dredge BE Lindholm is expected to return to work in Margate on or about Aug. 14, 2017.

The Army Corps will continue to work with the project's sponsor, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and the City of Margate to assist them with long-term storm water management solutions. During construction, the Army Corps will continue to employ mitigating measures to reduce impacts. The Army Corps team will continue to monitor the basin areas, gather data and analyze short and/or long term alternatives in cooperation with the NJDEP and community.
