Army Corps will maintain pool level at F.E. Walter Dam

Published Feb. 26, 2016

The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced it will maintain an elevated pool level and continue storing water at the Francis E. Walter Dam in White Haven, PA.

Typically, USACE begins raising the dam pool from a winter level of 1300 to a recreation level of 1370 starting around April 1. However, rains from recent storms have raised the level and uncertain flows in the Spring timeframe could make it more difficult to reach the recreation pool of 1370.

USACE will gradually store water so as to reach elevation 1370 by May 14, the date of the first whitewater release. Adjustments may be necessary based on hydrologic conditions.
