  • Army Corps Philly District conducts Changes of Command ceremony

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District ushered in new leadership as Lt. Col. Jeffrey Beeman assumed command of the organization from Lt. Col. Ramon Brigantti during a July 7th ceremony in the Wanamaker Building's Crystal Tea Room in Center City Philadelphia. Beeman became the 62nd commander in the District's 157-year history.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District is working to expand capacity at medical facilities in East Orange, Paramus, and Trenton, N.J. as part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • USACE Philadelphia District supporting response to COVID-19 public health emergency

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District is providing initial planning and engineering support for the States of New Jersey and Delaware to address possible medical facility shortages due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mission, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the two states, is part of a nationwide federal, state and local effort to respond to the public health emergency.
  • UPDATE: All scheduled events at Blue Marsh Lake cancelled

    Following guidelines issued by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters, all scheduled events at Blue Marsh Lake are cancelled until further notice. This includes all previously issued Special Use Permits for organized activities such as fishing tournaments, trail races, church services, and search and rescue training. The beach area is closed to public use and large group use of the picnic areas is prohibited. Park Rangers are still on duty and will be disbursing any large groups they come upon while on patrol.

  • Army Corps to conduct repairs on St. Georges Bridge

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor Freyssinet, Inc. will be completing joint seal repairs on the St. Georges Bridge in Delaware. Work will be conducted from Monday November 18 through Friday November 22 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
  • Dredge McFarland returns to Philly after completing urgent Mississippi River dredging mission

    The Dredge McFarland, based out of Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia, returned home on March 14 after completing an emergency dredging mission in the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River, 90 miles south of New Orleans.
  • Army Corps to host annual Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day

    LEESPORT, PA – Blue Marsh Lake will be holding its 36th annual “Take Pride in Blue Marsh” volunteer work program on April 21st, 2018. Various projects for the day include: litter pickup, seedling planting, trail work, wildlife habitat improvement, table painting, trail improvements, landscaping and other projects. Friends, family and organizations are invited to join the project staff for a day in the great outdoors.
  • Army Corps invites comment on Delaware shellfish aquaculture program

    PHILADELPHIA (January 22, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District today posted a proposal that would govern aquaculture in the Delaware Inland Bays and invited the public to comment. The proposal would govern regulation of shellfish aquaculture in a region that includes Rehoboth Bay, Indian River Bay, Little Assawoman Bay and Delaware’s portion of the Big Assawoman Bay.
  • Philly District earns Emergency Management accreditation

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District earned full accreditation from the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP). The distinction is the result of a comprehensive evaluation of District emergency management programs and activities including planning; resource management; training; exercises, evaluations, and corrective actions; and communications and warning.
