  • Special Public Notice - District Office Move

    After 30 years at the Wanamaker Building, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Philadelphia District is moving to a new location at 1650 Arch Street. The USACE Philadelphia District Regulatory Branch’s last day in the Wanamaker Building is Friday, October 28, 2022. USACE Philadelphia District Regulatory employees will be teleworking situationally until the new office space is ready.

    The applicant, New Jersey Department of Transportation – Office of Maritime Resources (NJDOT-OMR), has requested Department of the Army (DA) authorization to perform ten (10)-year maintenance dredging of the Cape May State Channel Complex: Middle Thoroughfare Lagoon State Channel (#205), Spicer’s Creek State Channel (#206), Cape Island Creek State Channel (#207), Schellenger’s Creek State Channel (#208), and Devil’s Reach State Channel (#209). The location for the proposed activity is in Cape May City and Lower Township, Cape May County, New Jersey. The stated purpose of this project is to maintain safe navigational depths for transiting emergency, commercial, and recreational vessels. More details are available in the "Public Notice" document.     The applicant, South Jersey Port Corporation, proposes to perform dredging, install mooring dolphins and place fill at the port facility that has previously received authorization from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The location for the proposed work is the former BP Oil Terminal and the former Essex Industrial Facility Borough of Paulsboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey. The applicant’s stated purpose is to allow for a mooring location for ships to transfer monopiles from the port to the proposed wind turbine farms located off the coast of Mid-Atlantic region.     The applicant, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is proposing a total roadway reconstruction and widening of the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-476) from four to six travel lanes, from Milepost A37.4 to Milepost A43.3 (MP-A38 to 44), in Salford Township, Montgomery County, and West Rockhill and Milford Townships, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The purpose of the project, as stated by the applicant, is to update the existing Northeast Extension, I-476 to meet current Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration standards to address current safety and traffic issues.
