    The applicant, Middlesex Beach Association, has applied for a Department of the Army 10-year maintenance permit to conduct periodic dredging for beach nourishment along approximately 1,900 linear feet of shoreline in the Middlesex Beach Community in Bethany Beach, Sussex County, Delaware. In order to minimize costs and impacts, it is the intent of the applicant to conduct the nourishment activity in coordination with the surrounding Federal Project nourishments. The purpose of the project is to provide increased protection benefits from storm damage, coastal erosion, and add to the recreational value of the Middlesex Beach community.     The applicant, New Jersey Department of Transportation – Office of Maritime Resources (NJDOT-OMR), has requested Department of the Army (DA) authorization to perform ten (10)-year maintenance dredging of Big Thorofare (State Channel #162) and a portion of the Tuckerton Federal Navigation Channel (FNC), both located in Little Egg Harbor Bay in Little Egg Harbor Township, Ocean County, New Jersey. The stated purpose of this project is to maintain safe navigational depths for transiting vessels; and beneficially reutilizing dredged material within the bay system.   • 2021 Nationwide Permit Special Public Notice

    On January 13, 2021, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers published a final rule in the Federal Register (86 FR 2744) announcing the reissuance of 12 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and issuance of four new NWPs, as well as the reissuance of NWP general conditions and definitions with some modifications. The NWPs in this rule along with these Regional Conditions replace prior versions of the 2017 Nationwide Permits. The remaining 40 NWPs from 2017, 2017 General Conditions, and the 2017 Delaware Regional Conditions applicable to those 40 NWPs will remain in effect through their scheduled March 18, 2022, expiration date, unless otherwise modified through the Public Review Process.

    The applicant, Public Service Electric and Gas Nuclear LLC (PSE&G), proposes to continue hydraulic maintenance dredging and desilting activities (intake bays only) at the Salem and Hope Creek Generating Station's circulating and service water intake structures, the Salem discharge pipes, the Hope Creek barge slip, and at the Hope Creek barge unloading dock area. The project is located at the Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations, on Artificial Island, in Lower Alloways Creek Township, Salem County, New Jersey. The purpose of the project is to continue the dredging and desilting activities to maintain unobstructed/unrestricted water flow for the safe operation of the Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations; and to provide adequate water depths for safe navigation for the loading and unloading of barges and/or vessels at the facility.     The applicant, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection – Bureau of Shellfisheries & Delaware Bay Shellfisheries Council, has requested Department of the Army authorization to perform ten (10)-year maintenance dredging of the Nantuxent Creek entrance channel to Delaware Bay; and a commercial vessel dockage area upstream within Nantuxent Creek. The proposed project is located adjacent to Money Island, Downe Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey. All resultant dredged material would be transported via floating and submerged pipeline from the Nantuxent Creek entrance channel to Delaware Bay; and via truck from the upstream dockage area; to the Money Island shoreline for beneficial re-use for habitat restoration.
