The Chesapeake and Delaware Canal Recreational Study Working Group conducted open houses April 25 at the Gunning Bedford Middle School in Delaware City and April 26 at the Bohemia Manor High School in Chesapeake City to begin the study process to investigate potential future recreational enhancements along the C&D Canal.
Congressman Michael N. Castle and Lt. Col. Robert J. Ruch, Philadelphia District Commander, addressed the group of 225, answered their questions, and spoke individually with attendees as they visited the members of the Working Group at Gunning Bedford Middle School.
Our thanks go out to everyone who attended the open houses and provided their input to the process.
Also, we are very appreciative of the time taken by well over 450 people who have since provided their input via email and letters. This is a tremendous response and we hope that, as the study progresses, the public will remain involved in our efforts to enhance recreation along the C&D Canal.
Finally, the support provided by the administration and staff of the Gunning Bedford Middle School and Bohemia Manor High School was outstanding and helped ensure that the open houses were successful.
