The Corps of Engineers and its partners the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Delaware River Basin Commission, despite the snow, conducted an Information Workshop at the Split Rock Lodge Feb. 24, 2005.
Facilitating the workshop was The Wildlands Conservancy represented by Chris Kocher, Chief Program Officer/Director, Rivers Program . Kocher's remarks, a brief history of the Lehigh River, are provided here for those who could not attend the workshop.
Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf, 12th District, addressed the group of 50 who attended the workshop and spoke individually with attendees as they visited the various information stations of the cooperating agencies.
Our thanks go out to the 50 people who attended the workshop and provided their input to the process.
Also, we are very appreciative of the time taken by well over 300 people who have since provided their input via email and letters. This is a tremendous response and we hope that, as the study progresses, everyone will continue to contribute to our efforts to enhance recreational opportunities along the Lehigh River.
Finally, the support provided by the Split Rock Lodge staff helped ensure that the workshop was successful. |
