Barnegat Inlet to Little Egg Harbor Inlet Long Beach Island Storm Damage Reduction Project

The Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District completed the second portion of initial construction of the Barnegat Inlet to Little Egg Harbor Inlet Coastal Storm Damage Reduction project at Harvey Cedars. The Corps awarded the contract to Weeks Marine Inc. for $23.62 million.
The project involved placing more than 2 million cubic yards of sand onto the dune and berm system of the beach; planting dune grass and constructing crossover structures for beach access. Weeks Marine completed work in July of 2010.
