      <description>The applicant has applied for a Department of the Army 10-year maintenance permit to conduct periodic dredging for beach nourishment along approximately 1,950 linear feet of shoreline in the Middlesex Beach Community between Bethany Beach and South Bethany Beach in Sussex County, Delaware. In order to minimize costs and impacts, it is the intent of the applicant to conduct the nourishment activity in coordination with the surrounding Federal Project nourishments. As such, the method of sand placement will match that of the Federal Project by either cutter suction dredge with booster pumps or by a trailing suction hopper dredge equipped with a pumpout capability from the offshore Fenwick Borrow Area or Borrow Area E located in the Atlantic Ocean. The nourishment area will match that of the Federal Project design template, without the dune and is expected to require approximately 103,000 cubic yards of dredged material.&lt;br/&gt;
