Savre toured a number of District projects including the deepening of the Delaware River, the Philadelphia Navy Yard seawall, the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, and military construction work at Dover Air Force Base.

He met with stakeholders from the EPA, FEMA, and U.S. Coast Guard and local project partners from the Maryland Port Administration, Maritime Exchange, the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority, the Port of Wilmington, and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.

During a town hall with District employees, Savre emphasized his priorities:

“My philosophy can be summed up in three phrases: mission first; people always; and a team of teams. We work for the American tax-payer and must place our mission first; be effective members of teams; and always treat people with dignity and respect.”

Savre assumed command of the North Atlantic Division on July 31, 2012. From the division headquarters, Savre directs a 3,500-member workforce and a multi-billion-dollar annual program in civil works, military construction and environmental restoration that spans 14 states throughout the Northeast as well as overseas in Europe and Africa.
