Schuylkill River above Fairmount Dam Dredging Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District is managing a project to dredge portions of the Schuylkill River above the Fairmount Dam in Philadelphia, PA. The contract calls for dredging approximately 60,000 cubic yards of sediment from the river. The dredged material will be pumped through pipeline over the Fairmount Dam and onto barges located south of the Route 676 Bridge. The barges will then travel south on the river and will dispose of the dredged material by pumping it to the Fort Mifflin Confined Disposal Area.
