LOCATION: Project is located on the Atlantic Coast at the boundary between Monmouth and Ocean Counties, New Jersey.
DESCRIPTION: This project provides for a channel 5 feet deep and 100 feet wide, from the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway channel at Barnegat Bay to the highway bridge.
COMMENTS: A safe navigation channel is critical to the operations of several commercial businesses in Toms River including the River Lady Riverboat Tours. A lack of funding in the regular budget prevents dredging and impacts commercial businesses that utilize the channel.
PROJECT GOALS: The purpose of this project provides for a navigation channel from the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway channel at Barnegat Bay to the highway bridge over South Fork.
