The Dredges Liberty Island, Dodge Island, Padre Island and Terrapin Island, of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, transit offshore to dredge sand and pump it onto Long Beach Island, NJ in June of 2013. The work is part of a larger effort by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to restore its Coastal Storm Risk Management projects.
