Oakwood Beach Coastal Storm Damage Reduction
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its contractor Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company construct a berm system at Oakwood Beach, N.J in December of 2014. The project involves pumping approximately 350,000 cubic yards of sand from the Delaware onto the beach. Work is designed to reduce damages from future storm events and was funded through the Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill (PL 113-2).
