New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway Dredging and Marsh Restoration
Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi spoke about the importance of partnership between federal, state, and local governments during an event celebrating the beginning of a dredging and marsh restoration project. USACE, in partnership with the state of New Jersey and several non-profit organizations, is dredging shoals from the federal channel of the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway and using the material to restore degraded marsh owned by the state. Work began in November of 2015 and is expect to be completed by February of 2016.
