The Francis E. Walter Dam, located near White Haven, PA, is owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District. The dam is designed to reduce the risk of flooding, but it also supports whitewater rafting/kayaking and fishing with planned water releases throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. A team of three dam operators help make these recreational water releases a reality.
