Army Corps to resume repair work on Reedy Point Bridge

The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District will be resuming joint repair work on the Reedy Point Bridge in Delaware. Work will begin in early May 2018 and is expected to last through mid-June 2018.

In order to complete the necessary repairs, the bridge will have temporary lane closures that will be managed to limit the impact on traffic.

The project contractor is Mountain Consulting Inc. based in Dover, Delaware.

Reedy Point Bridge is a cantilever truss bridge that carries two lanes of Delaware Route 9 over the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. Constructed in 1968 it has an overall length of 8,432 feet with a main span length of 600 feet.
