Army Corps to close St. Georges Bridge for repair work

PHILADELPHIA, PA. (August 10, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced the St. Georges Bridge will be closed to all traffic from Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 through January of 2019. The Army Corps and its contractor will be completing repair work of steel beams necessitating the closure.

Motorists are advised to use the Senator William V. Roth, Jr. (SR-1) Bridge as a detour route. 

The Army Corps awarded a $3.7 million contract to Freyssinet, Inc. in February of 2018 for steel beam repairs. St. Georges Bridge was constructed in 1941.
