Leesport, Pa. -- Blue Marsh Lake, located near Reading, Pa., will be holding its 38th annual “Take Pride in Blue Marsh” volunteer work program on April 27, 2019. Various projects for the day include: litter pickup, seedling planting, trail work, wildlife habitat improvement, table painting, trail improvements, landscaping and other projects. Friends, family and organizations are invited to join the Blue Marsh Lake staff for a day in the great outdoors.
Groups that would like to participate should attend an organizational meeting on April 10th at 7 p.m. so the Blue Marsh Lake staff can accommodate any group needs. This meeting will be held in the Conference Center at the project office complex.
Individuals and groups interested in picking up litter or planting seedlings should meet at the Visitor Center area at 9 a.m. on April 27.
A cookout will be held for the volunteers at noon with donations from various local businesses. It is anticipated that more than 400 volunteers will participate in this year’s program.
