PHILADELPHIA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host an information session regarding a draft Environmental Assessment on the Delaware City Dredged Material Disposal Area. The event will be held from 6-7 p.m. on September 26, 2024, at the Delaware City Library (250 5th St, Delaware City, DE 19706).
During the meeting, Army Corps team members will share a broad overview of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) document and process. The Draft EA will be available in the coming days for review at: https://www.nap.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Public-Notices-Reports/
The public and agencies are invited to provide comments by October 28, 2024 on the Draft EA (via email – PDPA-NAP@usace.army.mil or via mail to: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Planning Division, 1650 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19103). The meeting (audio only) and slide presentation will be recorded and posted online.
The Draft EA evaluates dredged material disposal alternatives that address disposal capacity needs for the operation and maintenance of the Delaware River, Philadelphia to the Sea navigation channel and Chesapeake and Delaware Canal navigation channel.
