Army Corps to temporarily close road at Francis E. Walter Dam

The primary purpose of the Francis E. Walter Dam is flood control. Recreation is a secondary mission as whitewater and fishery releases are planned every year.

The primary purpose of the Francis E. Walter Dam is flood control. Recreation is a secondary mission as whitewater and fishery releases are planned every year.

The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District will temporarily close the Francis E. Walter Dam road (between Bear Creek Road and Route 940) from Oct. 15 at 7:00 a.m. to Oct. 19 at 5:00 p.m. for repair work.
