The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District has updated the flow management plan for the Francis E. Walter Dam, correcting an earlier announcement from this week.

The Army Corps issued a news release stating there was not enough water storage in the reservoir to schedule the sixth increment of the flow management plan, which calls for increasing the Aug. 23-24 whitewater releases from 650 cubic feet of water per second to 1700 cubic feet per second on Saturday and 1000 cubic feet per second on Sunday.

After further calculations, the Army Corps has determined there is enough water storage to schedule these flow rate increases.

The Corps will announce at a later date if it is able to hold additional whitewater and fisheries releases. To see the plan or view updates, visit the project webpage or F.E. Walter on Facebook
