The U.S. Army Corps Engineers' Philadelphia District has announced there is not enough water storage at the Francis E. Walter Dam reservoir to hold end-of-season water releases Oct. 10-13.

The recreation plan allows for end-of-season whitewater and fisheries water releases if there is sufficient water storage in the reservoir. The reservoir is already at its winter level elevation of 1300.

During the 2014 season, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District held 24 whitewater releases and numerous fisheries releases from the Francis E. Walter Dam. The Army Corps of Engineers will host a public meeting to review the 2014 recreation plan and solicit feedback for next year's plan. The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on October 22 at the Holiday Inn Express in White Haven, Pa. (intersection of Route 940 and Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike).
