Boaters advised of lower lake levels at Blue Marsh Lake

Published Nov. 8, 2016

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District is advising boaters to be aware of lowering lake levels at Blue Marsh Lake in Leesport, PA. The Army Corps has been releasing water into the Tulpehocken Creek at the request of the Delaware River Basin Commission to provide additional flow in the Schuylkill River and into the Delaware Bay.

The lake is currently approximately one foot lower than the normal pool level of 285 feet at this time of year. If the release continues and the lake level drops to elevation 283, the boat ramps will be closed for boat launching.

Blue Marsh Lake is a multipurpose project constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood damage reduction, water quality, water supply and recreation.
