  • Army Corps shares update regarding temporary closure of portion of C&D Canal trail

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Philadelphia District shared an update regarding upcoming work along the Chesapeake & Delaware (C&D) Canal that will temporarily impact access to the Michael N. Castle trail system on the north side of the Canal and the access road off Cox Neck Road.
  • Army Corps awards contract for maintenance dredging of Chesapeake Bay approach channels

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District awarded a contract to Curtin Maritime Corp. for $10.8 million to conduct maintenance dredging of portions of the Chesapeake Bay approach channels as part of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal federal navigation project.
  • Army Corps announces upcoming lane closures on SR-1 Bridge in Delaware

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District will be conducting concrete deck repairs on the Senator William V. Roth, Jr. Bridge (SR-1) in Delaware beginning July 6th and ending in late August. The repair work will require single lane closures.
  • Army Corps announces signing of Chief’s Report for Delaware Bay study

    PHILADELPHIA (Mar. 9, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announces that Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, USACE Commanding General and the 54th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, has signed the Chief’s Report for the “Delaware Beneficial Use of Dredged Material for the Delaware River Feasibility Study” — a key milestone for the proposed project. The signing of the report advances the project to Congress for authorization.
