Army Corps announces lane closures along Summit Bridge

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced lane closures will be enacted along Summit Bridge in New Castle County, DE. Lane closures will begin on/about July 28th and last approximately two weeks while bridge repairs are taking place.

Summit Bridge to close weekend of April 19

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Summit Bridge will be closed to traffic from Friday, April 19, at 10 p.m., to Monday, April 22, at 5 a.m., the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District announced today. The closure is necessary to facilitate steel repairs and to accommodate the heavy machinery necessary to paint higher sections of the bridge and to replace several concrete barriers, called parapets, that separate traffic and provide protection at the edge of the outer lanes.
