  • Blue Marsh Lake - Hazardous Algae Bloom Warning and Closure

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Philadelphia District is advising visitors to   Blue Marsh Lake to be aware of the presence of extremely high levels of blue-green algae in the lake and the potential for harmful toxins to be present. Due to the high levels of algae in the lake, the Swim Beach at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area will be closed. Additionally, visitors are advised to avoid contact with the lake water until further notice.
  • USACE Philadelphia District supporting response to COVID-19 public health emergency

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District is providing initial planning and engineering support for the States of New Jersey and Delaware to address possible medical facility shortages due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mission, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the two states, is part of a nationwide federal, state and local effort to respond to the public health emergency.
  • Army Corps and DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation restrict access to section of Indian River Inlet bulkhead

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Parks & Recreation have restricted access to a 120-foot section of bulkhead at the Indian River Inlet within the Delaware Seashore State Park. The sidewalk and adjacent capstones in the inlet have experienced significant erosion, creating the need to close off access to the section for safety reasons.
