  • USACE shares update regarding Delaware City Dredged Material Disposal Area

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Philadelphia District shared an update regarding activity and operations at the Delaware City Dredged Material Disposal Area (located adjacent to the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal in New Castle County, Delaware). USACE is currently working through steps to prepare the site to accept dredged sediment from the Delaware River federal channel (dredging operations/placement activities are currently anticipated to take place in Summer 2025).
  • USACE to host information session for Delaware City Dredged Material Disposal Area Environmental Assessment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host an information session regarding a draft Environmental Assessment on the Delaware City Dredged Material Disposal Area. The event will be held from 6-7 p.m. on September 26, 2024, at the Delaware City Library (250 5th St, Delaware City, DE 19706).
  • Update: Army Corps replacement of Delaware City Bridge to be completed late April 2017

    PHILADELPHIA (January 31, 2017) – Work to replace the Delaware City Bridge (5th street/Rte. 9) in Delaware City is ongoing with an estimated completion in late April 2017.
  • Reedy Point Bridge open for the winter

    Both lanes of the Reedy Point Bridge, a cantilever truss bridge that carries Delaware Route 9 over the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, are now open to traffic. Except for a day or two of testing, in which case one lane will be closed, both lanes will remain open until the spring.
