  • Media Advisory: Agencies, organizations to discuss Delaware River watershed

    PHILADELPHIA -- On Friday April 4, representatives from more than 100 groups --- public and private, environmental and economic, regulatory and academic -- will gather at the Academy of Natural Sciences here to discuss the Delaware River and its surrounding watershed, so vital to the region.
  • Army Corps adds to water release schedule at Francis E. Walter Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps Engineers Philadelphia District has updated the recreation plan for the Francis E. Walter Dam. The Corps updated the plan, which states whitewater and fisheries releases will be added if enough water storage is accumulated in the reservoir. Wet conditions throughout the summer have allowed the Corps to add the 5th, 6th, and 7th increments of the plan.
  • Reedy Point Bridge open for the winter

    Both lanes of the Reedy Point Bridge, a cantilever truss bridge that carries Delaware Route 9 over the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, are now open to traffic. Except for a day or two of testing, in which case one lane will be closed, both lanes will remain open until the spring.
