USACE North Atlantic Division Commander Brig. Gen. John P Lloyd visited USACE Philadelphia projects and sites and met with team members Feb. 14-15, 2024. Some stops included the Dredge McFarland at Fort Mifflin, construction at St. Georges Bridge, the Oakwood Beach Coastal Storm Risk Management Project, and more.
Ongoing beachfill operations in Lewes, Delaware. Work is designed to reduce to risk of storm damages to infrastructure. Work should be completed sometime in January 2024. (Photos by Ed Voigt).
Contractors work on replacing the deck of the St. Georges Bridge in New Castle County, Delaware. The approximately 18-month project includes demolishing and replacing the bridge decking, median barrier, as well as replaces the bridge approaches and roadways.
