  • Boat Launches Remain Closed at Blue Marsh Lake

    Due to heavy rains from Tropical Storm Ida and the resulting runoff, the boat launches at Blue Marsh Lake remain closed to the public. The lake level is currently nine feet above the normal summer pool. With key gaging stations on the Schuylkill River below flood stage, this morning dam operators began to reduce water levels in the lake by increasing outflow to 3000 cubic feet per second.
  • Blue Marsh Lake - Hazardous Algae Bloom Warning and Closure

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Philadelphia District is advising visitors to   Blue Marsh Lake to be aware of the presence of extremely high levels of blue-green algae in the lake and the potential for harmful toxins to be present. Due to the high levels of algae in the lake, the Swim Beach at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area will be closed. Additionally, visitors are advised to avoid contact with the lake water until further notice.
  • Army Corps announces traffic and recreational changes at Blue Marsh Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be implementing changes to traffic, parking, and recreational operations at the boat launches operated by USACE Blue Marsh Lake. The modifications to parking and recreational activities will help resolve ongoing congestion issues and ultimately improve visitor safety and experiences.
