This District has received an application for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. 403). The purpose of this notice is to solicit comments and recommendations from the public concerning issuance of a Department of the Army permit for the work described below.

LOCATION: The proposed project is located at 1501 North Albany Avenue, Atlantic City, Atlantic County, New Jersey. The property is also known as the Atlantic City Transportation Center. The property is located at latitude: 39.370483 °N; longitude: -74.475888 °W.

ACTIVITY: The applicant proposes to construct a docking system consisting of 18 linear feet of new vinyl sheet pile bulkhead within 24 inches of the existing bulkhead to match the existing vinyl bulkhead, construct a 15' x 18' concrete pad to match the existing concrete pad, construct two (2) 6' x 40' floating docks for the re-fueling area, construct a 3' x 30' ramp, a 6' x 35' floating dock and two (2) 6' x 120' floating docks with eight (8) 4' x30' finger piers, and eighteen (18) 5' x 14' jet ski floats. There will be sixteen (16) 10" x 40' piles associated with the proposed work. All materials utilized for improvements will be constructed of non-polluting materials.

All associated piles will be jetted irtto the bottom and air hammered to finish grade with a noise dampener. Appropriate turbidity control measures, such as silt curtains or equivalent, shall be utilized to reduce the impact from turbidity during the pile driving activity. There is no intent on supplying water or electricity to the proposed slips. Currently the water depths are sufficient and dredging is not needed. The finger piers and Jet Ski floats will be removed seasonally and stored in an upland area onsite.
