The applicant, Ocean City, N.J., has requested modification of an existing permit to construct an advanced maintenance sediment trap within Beach Thorofare proximate to the mouth of Snug Harbor in the City of Ocean City, Cape May County, New Jersey. The proposed trap would be an area approximately 1 acre in size, 335 feet long by 132 feet wide (at an elevation of -6’ MLW). The applicant's stated purpose, as presented in their original permit application, was "to provide navigable waters in all areas of the back bay, lagoons and canals of Ocean City for recreational and commercial boating; and, interstate commerce.
