  • Army Corps constructs beach access with innovative flood barrier in Seaside Heights

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its contractor completed construction of a vehicular access in Seaside Heights, NJ where the beach meets the boardwalk at Grant Avenue. The access includes a removable coastal flood barrier, which can be quickly installed prior to a storm. The vehicular access and removable barrier are part of the 14-mile dune and beachfill project along the Barnegat Peninsula in Ocean County, NJ.
  • Army Corps announces road closure at Francis E. Walter Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced sections of Walter Dam Road (and through traffic between Bear Creek Road and Route 940) will be closed from April 26 through June 30 for repairs and road reconstruction.
  • Army Corps announces traffic and recreational changes at Blue Marsh Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be implementing changes to traffic, parking, and recreational operations at the boat launches operated by USACE Blue Marsh Lake. The modifications to parking and recreational activities will help resolve ongoing congestion issues and ultimately improve visitor safety and experiences.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District hosted Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, the 55th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, for a visit to several project sites in Delaware and New Jersey on April 7, 2021.
