    Expiration date: 5/18/2024

This Public Notice (PN) is a supplemental fifteen (15)-day PN to a PN that was issued on 31 July 2014 for DA Permit Number NAP-2014-00605-24. The 31 July 2014 PN was for proposed ten (10)-year hydraulic maintenance dredging of the New Jersey Department of Transportation – Office of Maritime Resources’ (NJDOT-OMR’s) Beach Creek State Channel #198, with placement of all resultant dredged material along North Wildwood’s Atlantic Ocean-front shoreline between 2nd Avenue and 6th Avenue. On 16 April 2024, the State of New Jersey’s Governor’s Office requested that NJDOT-OMR take immediate action and assist the City of North Wildwood with an emergency beach rehabilitation project to address severe erosion between East 2nd Avenue and East 26th Avenue, potentially jeopardizing public safety and damage to critical infrastructure and oceanfront property. On 29 April 2024, the Corps received a permit modification request from NJDOT-OMR for DA authorization to complete a one-time shoreline renourishment event at a severely eroded Atlantic Ocean beach berm area between East 2nd Avenue and East 26th Avenue in North Wildwood, which is sited within the federal design template of the Hereford Inlet to Cape May Inlet Coastal Storm Risk Management Federal Civil Works Project. Public comments are requested by May 18, 2024.

  • Special Public Notice 21-16

    Expiration date: 5/27/2021

This Public Notice is issued jointly by the Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh Districts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. On July 1, 2016 the District Engineers for Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh Districts, issued the Pennsylvania State Programmatic General Permit - 5 (PASPGP-5) for a five-year period. The PASPGP-5 will expire on June 30, 2021, unless a decision is made to suspend, or revoke the permit before that date. The Army Corps districts have been working on development of a new Pennsylvania State Programmatic General Permit, PASPGP-6, and issued a draft of the permit for public comment on September 4, 2020 (SPN 20-57). The goal is to have PASPGP-6 issued prior to July 1, 2021, however if issuance is delayed, the Corps is considering reinstatement of the previously suspended NWPs. With the PASPGP-5 expiring on June 30, 2021, and most of the referenced NWPs suspended in Pennsylvania, any delay in issuance of the PASPGP-6 would require most regulated activities to be authorized through a Department of the Army Standard Individual Permit. Reinstatement of the NWPs would allow for proposed regulated activities to be authorized by an applicable NWP, instead of the Standard Individual Permit process, provided the work complies with the terms and conditions of the NWPs. More details are available in the "Public Notice" document. Comments are requested by May 27, 2021.
