• Army Corps announces signing of Chief’s Report for Delaware Bay study

    PHILADELPHIA (Mar. 9, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announces that Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, USACE Commanding General and the 54th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, has signed the Chief’s Report for the “Delaware Beneficial Use of Dredged Material for the Delaware River Feasibility Study” — a key milestone for the proposed project. The signing of the report advances the project to Congress for authorization.

  • USACE Marine Design Center managing procurement of dredge for Azerbaijan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Marine Design Center is managing the procurement of a dredge for the nation of Azerbaijan, as part of a broader U.S. Department of Defense program to enhance Azerbaijan’s maritime security. The dredge will enable the Coast Guard of the State Border Service to operate its fleet of vessels and maintain access to the harbor entrance and shipping channels of ports located in the Caspian Sea.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its partners, the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, are hosting a public meeting regarding a re-evaluation study for the Francis E. Walter Dam and Reservoir on Jan. 9, 2020 at the Mountain Laurel Resort in White Haven, Pa.
  • Repairs to St. Georges Bridge extended

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor Freyssinet, Inc. have extended scheduled joint seal repairs on the St. Georges Bridge in Delaware. Work is expected to be completed by Friday December 6, 2019. Operations will be conducted weekdays between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Army Corps to conduct repairs on St. Georges Bridge

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor Freyssinet, Inc. will be completing joint seal repairs on the St. Georges Bridge in Delaware. Work will be conducted from Monday November 18 through Friday November 22 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
  • Army Corps to conduct C&D Canal maintenance dredging

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor will begin maintenance dredging on the approach to the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal in late November 2019 with completion expected by mid-January 2020.
