    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, proposes to revalidate and extend the expiration date of the New Jersey State Programmatic General Permit 17 from December 31, 2022 until December 31, 2027. This general permit was last revalidated and extended on January 26, 2018 with an expiration date of December 31, 2022. This general permit has been developed for certain categories of structures and work and the discharge of dredged and fill material in waters of the U.S. that require Department of the Army and State of New Jersey authorizations. Typical activities authorized by this general permit include minor dredging, bulkheads construction and replacement, breakwaters, piers, docks, pilings, rip-rap, dredging and filling, etc. The revalidation and extension of General Permit NJ SPGP-17 is being coordinated with other interested Federal agencies, the State of New Jersey, and the general public. Comments are requested by Oct. 14, 2022. More details are available in the Public Notice document.

    Expiration date: 9/28/2022

    The applicant, South Shore Moorings, LLC, has applied for a Department of the Army permit to relocate the South Shore Marina vessel access. The location for the proposed work is 45 Marina View Court, Bethany Beach, Sussex County, Delaware. In its current configuration, maintenance dredging is required annually in order to maintain safe, navigable marina access throughout all stages of the tide. Relocating the entrance to the southwest of the existing rock jetty will provide a more sustainable access point. The purpose of the project is to provide safe, navigable marina access while extending the maintenance dredging intervals. More details are available in the Public Notice attachment. Public comments are requested by Sept. 28, 2022.

    Expiration date: 8/17/2022

    The purpose of this public notice is to extend the comment period of Public Notice NAP-2019-00174-86 to allow the public more time to submit comments. USACE as decided to extend the comment period for an additional 30 days, to terminate on August 17, 2022. The proposed activity includes the installation of a living shoreline, which will include a vegetated beach dune system along with an oyster reef breakwater extending from H Street to Island Avenue in Seaside Park, Ocean County, NJ. Proposed walkovers are to be constructed to maintain public access to the Bayfront. The proposed living shoreline shall help to enhance vegetation/habitat, dissipate wave action and stabilize the shoreline along the Barnegat Bay in the Borough of Seaside Park. Additionally, six existing stormwater outfalls will be replaced and extended, and inline tide valves are to be installed at each stormwater outfall. The applicant’s stated purpose of the project is to repair the damaged shoreline along N. Bayview Avenue. Comments are requested by Aug. 17, 2022.

    Expiration date: 8/16/2022

    This Public Notice is being issued to extend the comment period for a previous Public Notice (NAP-2017-00135-84) in response to a request citing the unprecedented scope of this application. The revised comment period will close 60 days from the date of the original public notice, terminating on August 16, 2022. The applicant, Ocean Wind LLC, proposes to install and maintain an offshore wind energy facility and the required supporting infrastructure. The project includes up to 98 wind turbine generators (WTGs), up to three offshore alternating current (AC) substations, array cables linking the individual turbines to the offshore substation(s), one substation interconnector cable linking two offshore substations to each other, offshore export cables, an onshore export cable system which includes underground cables, two onshore substations, and connections to the existing electrical grid in New Jersey. Public comments are requested by Aug. 16, 2022.

    Expiration date: 8/13/2022

    The applicant, the Township of Stafford in Ocean County, New Jersey, has requested Department of the Army authorization to perform ten-year maintenance dredging of 19 township waterways. All of the work would be accomplished via mechanical dredge. All resultant dredged material, estimated to be approximately 706,336.0-cubic yards, would be removed from approximately 298.38-acres of sea bottom and disposed at the upland Renegade Real Estate, LLC - Timster Trucking Site located in Little Egg Harbor Township, Ocean County, New Jersey. The stated purpose of this project is to maintain safe navigational depths for transiting emergency, commercial, and recreational vessels.
