    The applicant, New Jersey Department of Transportation – Office of Maritime Resources, has requested Department of the Army authorization to perform ten year maintenance dredging of three (3) channels within Little Egg Harbor/Barnegat Bay, identified as Cedar Run Channel, Westecunk Creek Channel, and Parkers Run Channel. The work will take place in Stafford Township, Eagleswood Township, and Little Egg Harbor Township, all located within Ocean County, New Jersey.     The Cape Shores Home Owners Association has applied for a Department of the Army permit to conduct beach nourishment activities in the Breakwater Harbor/Delaware Bay, at the Cape Shores residential community in Lewes, Sussex County, Delaware. The purposes of the project are to provide protection for waterfront homes during coastal storms and to restore a recreational beach for the residents of the Cape Shores and the public.     The applicant, the city of Somers Point, proposes to upgrade a marina facility by removing dock structures, constructing new docks, and performing dredging. The proposed site of the docks and dredging project is the Higbee Marina, owned by the City of Somers Point. It is located in and along Ship Channel, approximately 2,000 feet northeast of the Route 52 bridge, at 198 Higbee Avenue, Block 1612, Lots 2 and 2.01, in the City of Somers Point, Atlantic County, New Jersey. The proposed site for beneficial reuse of dredged material is situated along the north side of Somers Point – Mays Landing Road (County Road 559), between the Patcong Creek bridge on the west, and the Garden State Parkway on the east. This location is also within the City of Somers Point. More information is available in the "Public Notice & Plan Details" attachment. Public comments are due by Feb. 17, 2018.

  • New Jersey State Programmatic General Permit 17

    This General Permit authorizes the construction of structures; work and the discharge of dredged and fill material in substantially developed artificial tidal lagoons in the State of New Jersey. This general permit is applicable to the appropriate navigable waters located within the geographic boundaries of both the Philadelphia District and the New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This General Permit has been reissued for a period of five (5) years. It expires on December 31, 2022. At that time, an assessment of the cumulative impacts of this General Permit will be done to determine if the general permit should be continued.
