The existing marina docks to be authorized provide for 37 boat slips, with capacity for an additional 22 personal watercraft floats. The applicant has stated their purpose for the project as: "The existing bulkhead is to be authorized in its current location. Authorization of the existing bulkhead and associated fill is required for bank stabilization. The proposed docking facility will allow for access to Post Creek Basin aka Sunset Lake including the mooring of pleasure vessels and personal watercrafts at the marina.     After 30 years at the Wanamaker Building, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Philadelphia District is moving to a new location at 1650 Arch Street. The USACE Philadelphia District Regulatory Branch’s last day in the Wanamaker Building is Friday, October 28, 2022. USACE Philadelphia District Regulatory employees will be teleworking situationally until the new office space is ready.

    The applicant, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has requested a Department of the Army permit to conduct beach nourishment along the South Bowers Beach shoreline in Frederica, Kent County, Delaware. This beach has previously been nourished utilizing dredged material from the Murderkill River Federal Navigation Channel. The applicant proposes to discharge approximately 28,000 cubic yards of sand from an upland borrow site onto the shoreline to replenish approximately 1,700 linear feet of beach and dune. The purpose of the project is to provide protection for waterfront homes during coastal storms and to maintain the recreational beach for the community. The purpose of the project is to provide protection for waterfront homes during coastal storms and to restore the recreational beach for the community. The applicant proposes to discharge approximately 31,500 cubic yards of sand from an upland borrow site onto the shoreline to replenish 2,915 linear feet of beach and dune. The purpose of the project is to provide protection for waterfront homes during coastal storms and to restore a recreational beach for the residents of the Cape Shores and the public.
